Well done to Gold Coast United for suppor...Hi Sean<br /><br />Well done to Gold Coast United for supporting the work of Surf Life Saving. An excellent initiative. <br /><br />I do have a problem however. After reading the letter I was surprised to see the signatory was Surf Life Saving itself and not United. The middle section of the email is little more than a thinly disguised pitch for punters to join the "Chairman's Club" which appears to offer no benefit to the charity. In addition they are flogging tables at a Chairman's Club function with, aside from the inclusion of a memorabilia auction, very little benefit, no benefit to the charity. Other than the $1 per ticket the email gives no other opportunity for other supporters to become involved in the fundraising effort. <br /><br />In effect United are using the charity as a marketing vehicle for club, with seemingly very little in return. <br /><br />Having two typos in one word while describing the need for people to support the work of the charity is simply inexcusable. <br /><br />"....a number of tragic downing’s lately..."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
